FedEx Express and FedEx Ground are increasing their regular published rates effective January 7, 2002.
FedEx Express published rates are increasing an average of 3.5%, which includes an increase in the courier pickup charge of $4.00 from $3.00. Also included is a $1.35 residential delivery charge for non-freight shipments to private residences within the U.S.
FedEx ground published rates are increasing an average of 3.5% which includes an increase in the residential delivery surcharge from $1.30 to $1.35 and a FedEx home delivery surcharge per package from $1.05 to $1.10.
UPS (www.ups.com)
On Monday February 5, 2002 new rates will go into effect for UPS. Same day service will increase 3.3%, next day and 2-day service 3.7%, 3-day service 3.5%, UPS ground 3.1%, and International 2.9%. UPS Ground residential rates will increase 5 cents to $1.05 per package, while UPS 3-day select will remain at $1.00 per package.
Effective December 10, 2001, UPS lowered its fuel surcharge to 0.75% from 1.25%. Beginning February 4, 2002 they will introduce an index-based surcharge, which will be adjusted monthly, and be based on the National U.S. Average On-Highway Diesel Fuel Price reported by the U.S. Department of Energy. The fuel surcharge will be adjusted on the first Monday of each month and be based on the average fuel price for the month that is two months prior to the adjustment.
Airborne Express (www.airborne.com)
Airborne Express has announced an increase of 3.9% on all air express services effective January 2, 2002. They will also be implementing a residential delivery fee of $1.25 and a delivery area surcharge of $1.50 for shipments to residences located within certain rural locations.

DHL has announced it will raise its rates on February 3, 2002. Rates will increase by 4% for International Document Express, Worldwide Priority Express, Inbound Import Express and USA Overnight services. DHL lowered its fixed fuel surcharge from 4% to 3% on December 2, 2001.
