Thrasher Magazine (46915) has teamed up with Rockstar Games to develop a skateboard video game, Thrasher's Skate and Destroy. Designed for Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo 64, Skate and Destroy is scheduled for an early 2000 release. As the first video game to enable players to participate in real street skateboarding, Skate and Destroy presents a valuable cross-promotional opportunity for Thrasher Magazine and is bound to spark new interest in this legendary youth title. Gotta Sweat (47034) will undergo a title change effective with the February 2000 issue (on-sale: Jan. 18). The new title, INSTRIDE, will carry the same bipad, frequency and cover price. Successful rock musicians Joe Escalante (The Vandals) and Adrian Young (No Doubt) have broken into the publishing business as full partners in the recently introduced magazine, Schwing! (46936) from High Speed Productions. The first publication to target Generation-X golfers, Schwing! dubs itself "a magazine for golfers who might not consider reading a golf magazine." This popular title has already been featured in Folio Magazine, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times, among others. Additionally, product placement opportunities in several top-rated network sitcoms are in the works. Stay tuned for details.... The land O' Lakes Recipe Collection® cookbook series has a whole new look for the Year 2000! Now each cookbook has a more eye-catching cover with bolder graphics, and an improved logo. Also, the Recipe Collection® now includes reformatted ingredient and preparation instructions, and a photo of every recipe.
