Dear Business Partner:
It's always this time of year that those three dreaded words
pop up - New Year's resolutions.
Amidst the parties, shopping, holiday planning, and Y2K jitters,
those of us at Kable are also taking some time to ponder what
the coming year will bring and what we can do to make our
company better.
It is a challenge that we do not take lightly. The tumultuous
nature of the industry demands that our company vision be constructed
cautiously, but with creativity and ambition.

Now more than ever, a national distributor must
specialize in many diverse areas, balance a variety of responsibilities,
and meet the needs of several different parties at the same time
to operate successfully. Our existence is born out of the publisher's
need for a multi-purpose representative, yet this is no small
feat. In the process of this grand balancing act, it seems that
many ND's find themselves operating more reactively than proactively.
It is Kable's mission to break that mold. We believe that
the national distributor of the 21st century will define the
industry - not let the industry define them.
While changes in the wholesale community have reshaped the
marketplace - sometimes seemingly at the expense of many publishers
and subsequently, national distributors - Kable will continue
to adapt and work within this new environment. We will also continue
to arduously challenge perceived barriers and defend our client
publishers when outside objectives contradict short- and long-term
planning.
Additionally, we do not intend to focus all of our energy
in one area. We will continue to expand our direct-to-retail
business and our ever-growing wholesale network. Significant
energies will be focused on enhancing retailer relationships
and extending our business in previously untapped international
circles.
Kable will also evaluate other ventures that offer synergistic
benefits and further extend our wide array of publisher services.
We will strive to reach our ultimate objective of being a "one-stop-shop"
for all of our clients' media service needs.
With the year 2000 just around the corner, we are reminded
of the new beginnings that each day brings. We look forward to
exploring these opportunities with you, and to discovering the
mutual success that each will uncover. Y2K will be an exciting
year for Kable. |
